Portuguese DJ and electronic music virtuoso Miguel Palhares returns to Piston Recordings with the superb ‘Every Chapter’. Miguel's sonic palette navigates through various styles, seamlessly blending deep, funky, and jackin' house with a sprinkle of old-school charm. Imbued with a lifelong passion for electronic music, Miguel took to the DJ decks at the age of 19. His performances have graced esteemed clubs across Portugal, earning him a reputation for delivering quality and versatility in his track selection, infusing every party with a contagious blend of fun and energy. Since 2013, Miguel has made waves with releases on prominent labels, and we’re delighted to have hosted his talents on Piston for several years with the hope of much more to come.

‘Every Chapter’ opens the release with a flurry of crispy hats and sharp claps before a nice punchy kick comes through. A deep, classic style bassline gets the groove flowing while warm chords fade up alongside cool vocal shots. The break reveals a stabby chord sequence that becomes infectious, forcing you to move which leads to a second break where a smooth vocal takes over and compliments the deep elements beautifully. A top-notch slice, not to be missed. ‘Attraction’ closes out the release, taking us deeper into the house realm with dirty, groovy mover. Chunky beats and slicing hats build up the groove as an infectious chord stab is joined by a rising pad to take control of the narrative. A classic vibe emanates from the sound, grabbing attention with a distinct Chicago house feeling. The vocals add a spicy layer to the groove while masterful synth manipulation keeps us locked in for the duration.
